2013 Spanish Championship. CEV, 1st race - Montmelo

28.04.13 - Race
THE QMMF RIDERS MANAGED TO FINISH A VERY DIFFICULT RACE.
SAEED AL SULAITI GET HIS FIRST POINT AT THE CEV

All the weekend the rain was the main enemy for the riders. The Moto2 race began with a very difficult condition, the track was slightly wet and it was raining but not enough to have a good performance of the wet tire.
After a very good warm up for Nasser in the morning, he suffered a crash in the warm up lap before the race, he could take his bike to the box and then all the team worked so fast for fix the bike and Nasser could take part in the race but he lost all the chances.
On the other hand Saeed did a very good race, he started the 21th and he managed to be the 15th, he is learning quite fast in this new season.

#96 SAEED AL SULAITI, 15th
'The start of the race was messy, everyone was everywhere. I try to avoid the touch with other riders in the first two laps. Also in the first seven laps, the track wasn't really wet and at the same time is not dry; it was a little bit slippery. Then the rain becomes heavier and from this moment I feel really confidence with the bike.
In the last two laps, I saw riders in front of me and I tried to catch them and, I manage to overtake one of them. I think that is a good result, I started the 21th and today it is so cold and I have never ridden in this conditions so, I am quite happy. I want to give thanks to my team they did a hard work this weekend and now I am looking forward for the next race.'

#95 NASSER AL MALKI, (NQF)
'The race was difficult, it was so cold and I crashed in the warm up lap before to the start of the race. I manage to go to the garage and we fixed the bike and I could start at the end of the grid. The first part of the race I couldn't push harder because of the new tires for rain, the track was slippery and in some corners I think that there was oil or something because the bike was sliding too much.
I started the last and I passed many people until I achieve my position. I want to finish in the top ten but I have had bad luck today. Thanks to all my team I feel how I have many people helping me in this weekend. We will see on the next race.'

ANTHONY WEST - QMMF World Championship Rider
'The temperature was amazingly cold, I was glad to not have to get on the bike today. Unfortunate for this guys today was hard and difficult because it wasn't raining enough, it was so cold and the track conditions were really slippery. I saw a lot of people crashing in the other races, it was easy to lose the front or the rear and had a crash in these conditions.
This is what I think that happened to Nasser in the first half part of the race, he expected to have the same grip than yesterday but it wasn't and he had a crash in the warm up lap and miss up the start. Definitely it is so difficult when you have a crash and you have to start from the pit lane, take the bike and go fast.

Saeed could get his first points today, he rode very and got the prize for it.
I think that is good for both of them stay there and finish the race in these really difficult conditions.'
