Dubai, UAE - 00 April 2013: Ducab one of the region's largest manufacturers of high-quality power cables and copper products recently announced the appointment of Eng. Jamal Salem Al-Dhaheri as Chairman of its Board of Directors. The changeover is part of a normal rotation where both the Government of Dubai and Government of Abu Dhabi, being equal shareholders in Ducab, take turns in nominating the Chairman position to the company's Board of Directors.
The change underlines the continuing strong partnership between Ducab's two Government linked shareholders - Investment Corporation Dubai and Senaat of Abu Dhabi - a partnership which has resulted in the rapid growth and development of the company.
Eng. Jamal Al-Dhaheri has been nominated for the Chairmanship with effect from the AGM held on the 18th April, while Dr. Ahmad Hassan Al-Shaikh, the previous Chairman, will remain on the board as Vice Chairman and a director representing ICD.
Eng. Al-Dhaheri brings with him over 17 years of experience, holding key management positions in Abu Dhabi's largest industrial entities. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Senaat, one of the largest industrial investment and holding companies in the UAE.
His previous roles include Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Basic Industries Corporation (ADBIC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of GHC, General Manager at Union Water and Electricity Company (UWEC), and Deputy Director of Projects at Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company (ADWEA).
Eng. Al-Dhaheri currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Emirates Steel Industries (ESI), Takamul Investment Company S.A.O.C. (Takamul), Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), as well as Khalifa Fund.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in the United States, in addition to an Executive MBA, graduating with distinction, from Zayed University in Abu Dhabi.
