H.R.H. Princess Hayabint Al Hussein Visits the Ministry's Pavilion
Abu Dhabi – 27th March 2013: The Ministry of International Cooperation and Development has concluded its participation in the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2013), which was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The event, which ended today, was held in the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center and saw Her Royal Highness Princess HayabintAl Hussein, wife of H.H. Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum and UN Messenger of Peace and the Chairperson of the International Humanitarian City, visit the Ministry's pavilion accompanied by H.E. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, during which H.R.H. expressed her admiration of the booth and underlined the important and dynamic role that the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development is expected to play as a national entity that supports and strengthens the UAE's relations with the outside world, boosts its developmental and humanitarian role both regionally and internationally, coordinates and develops the efforts of all humanitarian institutions and donor parties in the UAE and establishes stronger links with related ones abroad. HRH also expressed her wishes for the new Ministry's success and offered her congratulations to its team.
H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi stated that the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development will work as an umbrella that will seek to improve the UAE's cooperation relations with the rest of the world and will act as the UAE's medium into effectively coordinating the efforts of all of the country's humanitarian institutions and donor entities with their international counterparts, affirming the Ministry's quest to build its own standards of institutional excellence and efficiency in carrying out its assigned tasks and announced strategies, with the aim of achieving its sought after goals and helping translate the UAE Vision 2021 into a reality.
The Ministry's pavilion at DIHAD received a lot of interest from many of the event's participants and visitors. It was also visited by a number of distinguished international figures who applauded the creation of the Ministry and underlined the UAE's important international humanitarian and developmental role. Among the visitors of the Ministry's pavilion were H.E. British Minister of State for International Development Alan Duncan, António Guterres, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and many other global figures representing various international and regional humanitarian institutions and donor agencies.
