On 13th and 14th February, KPMG in the UAE hosted the second edition of the National Ace the Case Competition at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai.
We are delighted to announce team ‘Freaks and Geeks' from S P Jain School of Global Management have won the competition. They displayed outstanding analytical and presentation skills which set them apart from the rest of the competing teams. The UAE firm will go on to sponsor the team's participation at the KPMG International Case Competition to be held in Madrid, Spain in April 2013. KICC Ace the Case is a two day case competition consisting of a master class in business case analysis and presentation skills. The workshops held on day one, were designed to equip students with the necessary tools to solve, structure and present their analysis and recommendations. On day two, finalists transferred their learning to a live case under a tight deadline of three hours and presented their findings to a Judging panel who posed as real life clients.
I would like to thank my co-facilitators Matthew Zinkus for his excellent master class in business analysis as well as Joanna Van De Vyvere and Robin Paul for their support in the delivery of presentation skills. Many thanks as well to the Partners and Directors who took the day off to act as clients. The Judging panel included - Ian Gomes, Prathap Katharikuppam, Andrew Robinson, Joanna Van De Vyvere, Jaison George, Rohit Rajvanshi, Neeraj Dassani, and Fawzi Abu Rass.
This year we received over 100 applications for Ace the Case. Top students were chosen from each of the universities that applied :
