Urban Hunt Worth Thousands

Urban Hunt Worth Thousands

Win prizes every week by solving Urban Hunt clues with your smart phone.

Dubai, 10th  February 2013: Young entrepreneur and long-time Dubai resident Asim Bashir, is launching the Urban Hunt application for iOS, Android and Blackberry users. While Bashir pre-viewed his application during GITEX in October and on Facebook via the character Azeem the Great Genie, the Urban Hunt Dubai app is now available to everyone in Dubai through the Apple App store and Android Google Play Store. Prizes worth thousands of Dirhams will be awarded to users who are clever enough to solve the weekly clues and fast enough to uncover the treasures.

Clues are generally cryptic and written in a rhyming fashion typical of a scavenger hunt from the past and the locales range from old historic sites such as Al Fahidi Fort, to well-known landmarks such as the Dubai Mall Fountain or the more obscure like the Together Statue at Emaar Boulevard. The clue is solved by going to the destination and having your guess verified by GPS and each one solved correctly earns the player golden points. The first person to solve all the clues to a hunt wins.

The winner each week will receive various prizes from a 5 gram gold coin valued at 1,000 AED or tickets to shows such as Cirque du Soleil featuring in February's hunt. Urban Hunt has been running over the previous two months and is amassing quite a following of Urban Hunters who are already competing weekly for the prizes.

Because of this game, we're going places! I'm visiting some places after so many years, places I haven't been to since I was a kid. Even places we didn't even know existed! I even have my dad playing with me. It's been a lot of fun! says Dubai born resident Rokia Malick, one of the game's earliest adopters who has won 15g of gold and many other prizes in 2 months of playing the game.

When Memotech soft launched Urban Hunt in October, it gave us a chance to measure the initial reaction to the game with our early adopters. The game has evolved ever since and will continue to do so to keep the Urban Hunters entertained and intrigued, commented Bashir.

We just wanted to find a way to get people to learn more about the rich city of Dubai while having fun doing so, and winning some fantastic prizes says Bashir, We feel like there is a lot to this city that people aren't discovering, and came up with this concept to motivate people to see more of Dubai and learn about its culture and history.

About Urban Hunt Dubai:The Urban Hunt game falls under the umbrella Memotech LLC', a company set up by Asim Bashir in Dubai to develop mobile applications.

Urban Hunt Dubai is a game that can be downloaded from the App store for iPhones and from Google Play for Android smart phones and will be available for the Blackberry soon.

It is the first game of its kind in the region and has been created and developed by Asim Bashir and Sherleen Ali.
