From social media and art workshops to theater performances and a chance to see one of the world's greatest cricketers, here's what you can enjoy on November 12-13

Sharjah, November 11, 2022:  The 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair is about to conclude its spectacular 12-day run and the organisers, Sharjah Book Authority, are ensuring that the excitement and celebrations continue until the very last day.  

The SIBF 2022 calendar for its last weekend on November 12 and 13 has a line-up of entertaining activities and workshops for people of all ages. Free your weekend and head to the world's largest book fair at Expo Centre Sharjah to make the most of its vibrant agenda. 
Be Your Own Brand workshop: In the age of social media, it's all about how you market yourself. So learn about how to position yourself through content creation at this workshop conducted by Hala Harb, and how to gain value from reaching the right audience. Learn how to promote yourself by combining skills, experience, goals and personality through content. November 12, noon-1 pm; Social Media Station.

Host a 'Morning Show' (for children):  This workshop helps prepare kids for careers in digital and future media, showing them how to plan, script, present and shoot a video segment of their own show regarding a chosen topic. November 12 and 13, 11:30-noon and 18:45-19:45; Hall 7, Workshop 1.

Catch Pinocchio the Puppet: Italian artist Elena Gaffuri gives life to the character of Pinocchio, the beloved tale of a wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy and one of the greatest ambassadors of Italian stories and culture. The artiste entertains children with fun interactions based on the famous tales about the wooden puppet to evoke their sense of curiosity and wonder. November 12 and 13, Roaming theatre act around the venue, 11:00-11:30; 18:00-18:30; 20:00-20:30.

Toy Tale play: An exciting musical, Toy Tale is a play that explores the impact of children’s addiction to video games. The events unfold in an abandoned toy store where young children will experience and learn the negative consequences of their obsession with video games, especially those that are not age-appropriate. November 12 and 13, 19:30-21:00; Theatre, Al Taawun Entrance.

Stories in Box workshop: Children aged 7 and above learn how to tell delightful tales at this workshop led by Italian company Teatro Verde. Organisers of the one-hour workshop give children an idea or suggestion and encourage them to come up with their own stories, and the kids find ways to design their characters and stories inside boxes, creating their own little theatrical experience. November 12 and 13, 10:00-11:00; 11:10-12:10; 12:20-13:20; Hall 7, Workshop 4.

Adventures in Coding: In this workshop, attendees will build an animation, interactive art and games in the Game Lab, using drag and drop programming. It starts off with simple shapes and builds up to more sophisticated sprite-based games, using the same programming concepts. November 13, 17:00-18:00, Social Media Station.

Meet the 'Rawalpindi Express': Visitors at the fair will get a chance to listen from one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, as he sits down with moderator Tarannum Ahmed for an interesting conversation where he will unravel some unknown tidbits about himself. Come, watch a gripping story about his life, presented in the Urdu storytelling art form of dastangoi. November 13, 18:30-20:00, Ballroom.
