Tagir Ulanbekov

Beat Bruno Silva by decision (flyweight bout)

“I hope I’m going to get the bonus. When I got inside the Octagon, I thought I was going to be much easier, but then there was a lot of pressure.
“There was a lot of pressure on me because I have my teammates fighting in the coming weeks (including Khabib Nurmagomedov) so I had to make sure I that I won to motivate them in the coming weeks. It was the hardest fight of my career to date, but I hope this fight will motivate my team.”
“I wasn’t sure if I’d won. I was asking my corner. I know I have to do more in future fights.”
“I will mostly likely be back in 2021. I want to dedicate this victory to Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov (Khabib’s father).

Giga Chikadze

Beat Omar Morales in R3- Judges decision

“It feels great. I wanted to finish him in first round, as I always finish my fights, and do not wait for the fight to finish; and I wanted to have my first UFC finish. In the first round I felt his left kick was bad, and I had an injury to my right leg, so I had to be careful. I do not think if my opponent is undefeated or not; I am here to fight and show my power. I have much respect for my opponent, and I trained a lot for this fight. It was fun fight, and I enjoyed it.  A lot of people doubted me, but I am here to prove the opposite. I am blessed to have the trainer who is now training Tyson, because I learn a lot from a legend like Tyson.

Tracy Cortez

Beat Stephanie Egger in R3- Judges decision

“I had an amazing experience in Abu Dhabi, the people were so kind and supportive, the service was great. I enjoyed training at Yas Beach. I am looking forward to coming again and explore the city.”

Tony Kelley

Beat Ali Alqaisi in R3- Judges decision

“I wanted to put a show, but my opponent was not fighting as he should. He showed that he is strong and did not break easily. I am ready to take my next opponent in December”

Joaquin Buckley

Knock out Impa Kasanganay in R2

“I had an excellent experience here in Abu Dhabi; everything was great, the airlines, the hotel, the people; everything was perfect and I did not worry about anything, so I could focus on the fight. I will always remember this fight and winning in Abu Dhabi. I am still trying to catch up with this winning. A lot of people do not know a lot about fighting and follow celebrities not real fighters. I focused on giving a good fight, and I did that. I was conscious of my movement and I knew I will knock him out. I am looking to return to the octagon. I am happy that I won this night’s bonus. I still have more to show and give in the future.

Chris Daukaus

Knock out Rodrigo Nascimento Ferreira (45 seconds into R1)

“it is amazing, and the best finish in the Fight Island. Everyone was warning me of my opponent, but I knew that I would win this fight, although I did not think I will finish him in 45 seconds. I am happy for my performance and winning. I will take some time off to spend some time with my family, I will be cornering for my brother in his coming fight, and I will come fresh next year.

Tom Breese

Beat KB Bhullar in Knock Out in R1

“It was an excellent fight. I did what I am good at. Every fight you have to learn something new, and I am gaining more momentum. I put to much time and effort in this sport, and I want to show the world what I can do. I hope to come here in January. I saw I could hurt him, and I did not feel his kicks were powerful enough. I wish I could help people, but I am not in this sport for ego.

Tom Aspinall

Beat Alan Baudot Knock Out in R1

“That’s what we like, get it done quick and get home safe. I’m still learning. He was just like a wild animal and I couldn’t find my range. He got close with some spinning stuff. That’s the reason I took him down, I didn’t fancy getting hit with that.
“I like it here, so I’d like to come back. I’ve been in training camp after training camp so it would be nice to rest the body a bit and get back out.
“I’ve won two fights here now in Abu Dhabi, so the next time UFC comes here, I’m coming. Fight Island’s great. They keep us all safe and all we have to focus on is training and the fights.”

Dricus Du Plessis
Beat Markus Perez Knock Out in R1
“I came with a lot of expectations, and a lot of pressure, especially with 40 million supporters who I knew are watching me in South Africa. I stayed calm all the time, I tried to expect what will happen, especially it was a short notice before the fight. You can have a million fight, but once you are inside UFC octagon will feel nervous. Every fight is the most important fight of my life. It is too much tough, first time in main card, tough opponent, no fans. I am glad this happened and I could improvise. I am calling out Adesanya because he has the belt, nothing personal, and I made a statement with my winning today. This is not a show, it is a serious fight, we are real gladiators. I do not focus on my opponent, I focus on my self and prepare for my opponent; I fight my fight, not my opponent.

Marcin Tybura
Beat Ben Rothwell by decision in R3
I am happy I could stick to plan. The beginning was not perfect, but I could follow the plan. I am happy I could put a good show. I tried to knock him down, but he was standing solid. He swings a lot, and he is slower than I thought, but it was a good experience. I wish to face one of the top 10 in my next fight.

Edson Barbosa
Beat Makwan Amirkhani Judges Decision R3
“Feels like I’ve removed a few hundred pounds from my shoulders. Game plan was to be patient. I trained to face an orthodox fighter, and this changed. A southpaw wrestler.
“I believe in my ground game. I have the best coaches in the world. Whatever they say I do it. If they told me to do a backflip, I would try it.
“Give me another fight as soon as possible. I’m 100% healthy.”
“Khabib is mentally very strong. Everyone knows his game but he’s still able to go out there and do it. I’m very excited for the 254 fight.

Cory Sandhagen
Beat Marlon Moraes Knock out in R2
“Very excited. That was a big one for me. I knew Marlon was a monster coming into this and I managed to take him out.
“It’s easy on these trips to get too relaxed but I was locked into it the entire time.
“During lockdown I was in my basement adding those spinning kicks into my game.
“It’s dog eat dog sport so if they give me a title shot I’m going to take it. I’ll keep staying in my lane. I do this for love, not for being famous or Instagram followers. It’s about finding the best guys and beating the best guys.
“Whatever I have to do to get to the top of the sport that’s what I’m going to do.
“This is the icing on the cake for me. It’s a long time we’ve been out here. Abu Dhabi has been wonderful.”
