These measures include the daily sterilization and disinfection of all buildings and exhibition halls, sterilizing the surfaces and all work tools as well as the reception area and other internal and external facilities.

All the materials used are with high efficiency of combating viruses and germs, besides the availability of hand sanitizers while urging employees to use them continuously to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them.

Preventive Measures
His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, the CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah, said: “The centre has intensified its efforts in sterilizing and disinfecting the main building of expo and the other branches, as part of our strategy to maintain the health and safety of employees and customers. Also, all the requirements for sterilization have also been provided for internal work teams which are not included in the remote working system to continue daily cleansing operations, while taking all necessary precautionary measures to prevent diseases and preserve public health.”

“When applying these measures, the social dimension of our male and female employees has been taken into account and without prejudice to the professional commitments to ensure that all services and workflow are performed seamlessly and in a timely manner, in accordance with the highest standards of excellence which the centre adheres to and cannot deviate from whatever the circumstances and at all times.” Al Midfa underlined.

Working Remotely
Mohammed Al Mazroui, Director of Support Services, Expo Centre Sharjah, explained that the preventive measures included the use of a digital fingerprint, via the employee ID, instead of the traditional fingerprint.

And in response to the decision of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in line with the directives of Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, the centre has shifted to the remote working system.

In addition, The Centre postponed the 48th edition of the Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show (WJMES), which was scheduled to take place from 25 – 29 March to be merged with the 49th edition in late September 2020.

The move comes as part of the Centre’s keenness on the health and safety of its employees and visitors.

The Expo Centre urged all customers to use the smart platforms available at the website or the smart app available in Arabic and English, through which the user can view the latest updates, e-services, events calendar, and chat with the center’s staff to answer their inquiries.
