Empower: 16% rise in transactions through E-services

Dubai, UAE, 21st August 2019:  Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, reported that the number of online transactions performed through its e-payment channels  showing a significant growth of 16% during January to July 2019 compared to the same period of 2018.  Empower is providing it’s e-services to more than 100,000 customers through company’s own platforms and other channels provided by its partners, banks and financial organisations, to ease the payment of district cooling bills.

As per the records, around 290,000 transactions performed through e-payment channels in the first seven months of 2019, compared to 250,000 in the same period of 2018.

Customers have used Empower’s e-Services and m-Pay platforms, in addition to the platforms of Emirates NBD, Noor Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Al Ansari Exchange and UAE Exchange.

The e-service system allows customers to pay their bills, view previous invoices, receive an electronic receipt once payment process is completed. The system also has the facility to request for final bill, pay dues and obtain the clearance certificate, where customers are kept updated about the status of their application, until they receive the final invoice and a clearance certificate.

“We strive to increase the transactions through our e-payment channels to contribute to the implementation of the Dubai Paperless Strategy, which aims to transform the Government of Dubai into a paperless government by December 2021, by adopting smart and digital models in all its transactions. The Strategy was launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve the objectives of Smart Dubai to make it the smartest and happiest city in the world,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

“In the past few years, Empower has signed several agreements with banks and major financial organisations in Dubai, as part of its strategy to enhance customer happiness and satisfaction. The use of electronic channels to process financial and administrative transactions for customers, is witnessing rapid growth at Empower,” added Bin Shafar.
