Ministry of Health & Prevention Unveils the Largest Expansion of Medical Examination Centers to Reach 18 Centers

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 22 June 2019:  The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) unveiled its plans for expanding medical examination centers for residency to reach 18 centers to enhance the services provided by the existing 10 centers in light of the heavy turnout by the ministry’s clients.

The number of beneficiaries from the services provided by these centers has reached 752,000 customers in 2018, considering that each transaction is done in record time, only 7 minutes. This led to increasing the customer happiness rate to 83%, amid expectations of further increase, in conjunction with the opening of three new centers in October 2 centers in Sharjah and 1 in Fujairah.

H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdel-Rahman Al-Rand, Undersecretary of the Ministry’s Health Assistant Sector, Health Centers and Clinics, said: “At MoHAP, we focus on the customer-centric services. For that reason, we are expanding our network centers and adding new services to provide medical examinations for residency.”
“These new centers are forming an important addition to our sophisticated medical services, as part of MoHAP’s strategy aiming to provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare services as per the highest standards of excellence. In that sense, MoHAP has launched a large-scale workshop with a view to establishing 8 new medical examination centers, two of them in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and one center in Ajman and Umm Al Quwain,” added Al-Rand.

Latest Systems & Equipment to Reduce Waiting Time

He pointed out that the medical examination centers for residency are well-equipped with the latest medical devices and a high-quality electronic system as per the highest standards. Our aim is to improve the customers journey and reduce their waiting time, as well as provide smart solutions and innovative services to enrich our customers experience in accordance with the global standards.

“New technologies have been added, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Also, a new program is being tested that helps in obtaining an accurate and quick diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis for expatriates and residents to immunize our society against infectious diseases. The screening accuracy ratio of this program is around 98%. On another note, the duration of the regular screening was 3 minutes, however, after applying the AI technology, the time reduced to only 0,1 second for each case. The new program is currently available at the examination centers of Al Kuwait Hospital (Al Baraha previously), Dubai and medical examination centers at Ibn Battuta Mall, and it will be circulated at MoHAP’s centers in the near future,” Al-Rand noted.

These services are carried out in accordance with strict international requirements and specifications which have been listed in the official tender documents.
