Oman's NDC appoints new CEO
 

Dubai, UAE, December 18, 2018:  National Detergent Company SAOG (NDC), a leading FMCG company in the Sultanate of Oman, appointed industry veteran William Hunt as its new CEO. Prior to joining NDC, William Hunt was the CEO of Soaps and Chemicals Industrial and Trading in Sharjah (UAE) prior to joining NDC. 

Hunt comes with exposure in a number of industries including plastics, chemicals, and fast-moving consumer goods industries. He has seen great success in dealing with global retailing giants such as Walmart, Menards, Carrefour, Tesco, and Woolworths. 

A well-respected international executive - Hunt has been a key member of several globally renowned companies’ executive and leadership teams for the past 20 years. He has held the position of President of Access Business Group, in the USA; Executive Director of Brambles Australasia, in Australia; and President of Boral Bricks, in Australia; among several other leadership and high-performance roles in his career. 

Hunt is an MBA graduate from the prestigious University of Chicago Booth School of Management and Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemical Engineering from Washington University. Hunt is also an experienced marathon runner, triathlete, cyclist, an avid golfer and tennis player. 

Reflecting on his appointment, Hunt said, “I am both honored as well as excited to have been selected to lead NDC. The company has a great culture, modern manufacturing facilities and is one of the Middle East’s oldest and most successful companies. Building further on its success is a challenge I accept with confidence, determination and ambition. I will continue to operate with a strong consumer focus.”

‘Truly Arabian, Truly World class’, the National Detergent Company SAOG (NDC) is one of the sultanate’s leading FMCG companies, and manufactures and distributes a wide range of successful brands covering various segments - detergents powders, liquid detergents, soaps, shampoos, allied laundry aids and other household cleaning products.

Established by Mr. Abdul Hussain Bin Bhacker Al Lawati, the Founder and Previous Chairman, NDC began manufacturing and marketing of soaps and detergents in 1981. The other major promoters in the company are the Omzest Group (Omar Zawawi Establishment) and Al Anwar Holdings. 

It is noteworthy that NDC is the first ISO certified soap and detergent company in the region. The flagship brand Bahar is a market leader in Oman and has strong presence in the MENA region. The company has also won numerous laurels for leadership in developing Omani products that are at par with some of the best brands in the world. 

NDC’s latest offering, Bahar Advanced-Matic liquid laundry Gel is getting fabulous response from the consumers. Aimed at providing a superior laundry experience for consumers, the new liquid detergent promises to make their laundry chore easier through the year and during all seasons. With outstanding cleaning capabilities, Bahar Advanced-Matic Gel provides concentrated laundering power along with long lasting perfume. 

Introduced to meet the growing consumer demand for liquid detergent, Bahar Advanced-Matic Gel is loaded with multi-enzymes to clean effectively while keeping the garment soft and fluffy even after repeated washes.
