Al Ghurair Centre Celebrates UAE's Cultural Diversity in collaboration with Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 2 August 2018:   Aligning with the message of UAE’s cultural ideology, Al Ghurair Centre, GCC’s first mall, joined hands with Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture to host their annual multicultural event. This event was aimed at bringing together the rich diversity of numerous ethnic groups in the UAE at one place.

With the presence of over numerous customers, the event saw the attendance of dignitaries from the Dubai Government, the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department.

Zeinab Badar, Marketing Manager, Al Ghurair Properties, said, “This multicultural event imparts a strong message of unity in diversity. With such events we want to create a platform that educates, entertains and engages people about the various ethnicities present in the UAE. Our effort is to bring together different communities every year to celebrate the rich cultural diversity and to encourage them to blend and celebrate life in unity.”

This cultural celebration commenced at 10:00 pm, where participating children from different nationalities were dressed up in their traditional attires and showcased a well-orchestrated parade around the mall along with their country flags. The event hosted a cultural stage show which was specially created for children & families where a series of games & competitions were organized.

Fayez Al Marzoqui, Senior Specialist, Cultural Activities at Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department said, “We need to rejoice the fact that we are inhabitants of a uniquely modern and cosmopolitan city and that the United Arab Emirates is home to families from all over the world, each with their own distinctive culture. We need to embrace the uniqueness of each other’s culture without any inhibition. These kinds of events encourage to break the barrier and coexist in peace and harmony.”
