Dubai, UAE, 21 March 2020: du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has announced the availability of new services to provide customers with reliable and unlimited access to everything they require in the world of communication from the comfort of their homes. This is part of du’s ongoing commitment to provide all forms of support for residents in the UAE, enabling them to enjoy comfortable and flexible communication throughout the current period. Moreover, the pledge aligns with the guidance of the leadership and recommendations of the UAE government to stay at home in order to ensure societal health and safety for all UAE residents.

du is offering its customers online and digital services that include free delivery to their homes within 24 hours when placing orders through the du App or website.  Meanwhile, new and existing home customers will enjoy a free upgrade on internet speeds of up to 500Mbps, and be able to communicate with their loved ones for free through the internet calling application, Voico UAE. Furthermore, du is also allowing customers to enjoy video-on-demand services with hundreds of free movies, in addition to the benefits and services experienced through Amazon Prime.

Health and safety of UAE residents is top priority

Fahad Al Hassawi, Deputy CEO – Telco Services, EITC, said: “This latest step reaffirms our commitment to contribute towards the national endeavours to ensure the health and safety of all residents during this time. As a leading UAE company, we care about the well-being of our people and communities. This pledge complements du’s recently launched initiative to support educational institutions in remote learning and enable business communities to work remotely with enhanced efficiency.”

Harnessing all resources and expertise

Al Hassawi added: “Providing varied and substantial support to the UAE population is at the core of our operations and forms part of the strategic vision that du has followed since its establishment. This enables everyone to seamlessly communicate and fulfil tasks and responsibilities without being affected by the temporary and exceptional circumstances the worldwide community is currently witnessing. Ultimately, our mission is to harness all our resources and expertise to ensure that everyone has the ability to communicate smoothly regardless of circumstances or time of day. At this time, it is important that all residents stay in their homes and abide by the directions and recommendations of the UAE Government to ensure the health and safety of themselves and others.”

du services for customers also include the ability to easily accomplish many of the services they need online through the du App or website, such as buying a prepaid or forward payment chip, buying devices in monthly installments or at a direct retail price, subscribing to home communication services, switching the communication chip or moving from corporate packages to retail packages, and much more. As part of du free home services, customers can enjoy many of Amazon Prime’s purchasing and entertainment privileges and benefits including next-day delivery service when shopping at Amazon.com, as well as access to Amazon Prime movie originals, free games and other perks.

All du customers can use the du App or visit the company’s website to pay their bills, follow up on the consumption of their packages, recharge packages, purchase data and minutes, and renew identity registration. They will also receive the necessary support from the du team via the online instant chat service.

du has recently launched another initiative aimed at providing all schools and universities in the UAE with support as part of the remote learning initiative. This followed the announcement by the Ministry of Education that all students and faculty members from schools and higher education institutions would be working remotely through online platforms.
