GEMS New Millennium School improves overall rating from ‘Good’ to ‘Very Good’

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 19, 2020:    GEMS Education’s Indian curriculum schools in Dubai have once again raised the bar achieving significant improvements in the KHDA’s recently announced 2019-20 Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) results.

GEMS New Millennium School – Al Khail was the star performer, jumping from an overall ‘Good’ rating to ‘Very Good’, while The Kindergarten Starters, GEMS Our Own Indian School, GEMS New Millennium School, GEMS Heritage Indian School and Our Own High School Boys all maintained their overall ‘Good’ ratings.

The DSIB inspection results reflect the commitment of GEMS Education to deliver the UAE National Agenda 2021 in relation to raising the quality of education in Dubai.

Sir Christopher Stone, Global Chief Education Officer at GEMS Education, said: “At GEMS Education we strongly believe in continuous improvement and in fostering a culture of continuous learning. We are therefore very pleased with these latest DSIB inspection results, as they are a reflection of the unwavering efforts and dedication of our teachers, education leaders and support staff. We take inspiration from our founder, Sunny Varkey, a passionate educator, and together we remain fully committed to realising his vision of putting a quality education within the reach of every learner.”

GEMS New Millennium School was highly praised in the DSIB inspection report for “placing an emphasis on student wellbeing and safety”, with the school’s management team, described as “well-trained, high-performers” with “excellent resources”. The report also cited measurable improvements in science and maths attainment, optimal use of digital technology and the school’s dynamic curriculum offering that adapts to changing needs and trends.

Fatima Martin, Principal of GEMS New Millennium School – Al Khail, said: “We are delighted to be validated by the DSIB as a ‘Very Good’ school. In 2015, in our very first DSIB inspections, we were rated as a ‘Good’ school. Now, thanks to steady year-on-year improvement, we have passed the next milestone in our school’s development. The concerted efforts of all staff at GEMS New Millennium School, to pursue excellence, have been instrumental in this achievement.

“At the heart of our school are the GEMS Education Core Values as well as the UAE Vision 2021, laying the foundations for the highest educational standards, enabling us to focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for all our students. We are proud to see GEMS Education shine in this context, building on our unparalleled track record of providing quality education.”
