Experience the power of shared VR, robotics, augmented reality and more at Epson’s GITEX stand G20 in Hall 4

Dubai, UAE; September 25, 2019: Epson is participating in the region’s leading technology show, GITEX Technology Week 2019, and showcasing its unique solutions for businesses, education, professional display, hospitality and retail. These range from projector technologies to robotics, printing solutions, visual imaging and augmented reality.

A stand-out feature of this year’s Epson stand is a 180-degree shared virtual reality (VR) projection space, housed inside a custom created structure, providing an immersive projection experience. Three Epson EB-L1755U laser installation projectors with ELPLX02 ultra-short throw lenses are used to display the VR content. The projection space acts like a giant VR headset and provides visitors with a breathtaking shared VR experience.

Jeroen van Beem, director of sales, Epson MEA, says: “GITEX Technology Week is where the region’s technology leaders, IT enthusiasts and global innovators come together to discuss advancements and future trends in technology. As a company that has led many technology innovations, from the world's first analogue quartz watch to the first miniature digital printer, Epson is proud to join this five-day event.

We have lined up a series of demonstrations and interesting activations to give visitors a glimpse into the possibilities of virtual reality, projection mapping, augmented reality; and experience our wide range of products for different industry sectors. We have a customised structure for shared VR experience, built with the support of our partner Igloo Visions, to give visitors an immersive unique VR experience. GITEX is also an opportunity for us to educate visitors on the benefits of our inkjet printing technology versus laser printers.”

In the education zone of Epson’s stand, visitors can interact with the Epson SCARAT3-401S robot which does an amazing job with simple pick-and-place applications, and is used in a huge range of industries, from assembling automotive components, to creating medical equipment and packaging medications. Epson also works with several education institutions to facilitate research in robotics.

The education zone will also feature Epson’s Moverio BT-35E smart glasses that allows you to connect drone monitors, cameras, game consoles, laptops, Android phones, and other video sources via HDMI or USB inputs. It is ideal for commercial applications such as healthcare, engineering and drone piloting.

Corporate visitors can marvel at the new Epson EB-1485Fi laser interactive projector display which will transform any workplace with its large scalable display of up to 120 inches. It enriches collaboration and engagement and allows sharing content from a range of devices simultaneously.

At GITEX this year, Epson presents the EB-L1070u from their professional display range.
