Roderer's RFID-blocking wallets
Roderer's RFID-blocking wallets

Dubai, UAE, March 12, 2017:  Roderer, the Dubai-based manufacturer of exclusive luxury leather goods and accessories, have unveiled a range of finely-crafted wallets with RFID blocking technology, that keeps your credit cards and vital biometric information safe from electronic snooping.

RFID stands for radio frequency identification. Although not new technology per se, it has become increasingly popular over the last few years. Essentially it involves the use of radio waves to process information stored on something like a tag that may be attached to an object.

RFID chips are now commonly found in credit cards, passports, enhanced driver’s licenses and global identity cards. They generally store highly sensitive, personal information such as your name, credit card number, passport numbers, address, and date of birth. In fact RFID technology is probably making your life easier every day without you even realizing it. RFID chips make payments faster and help to identify you more efficiently. For example, by transmitting information quicker, border agents can process people faster when crossing international borders.

Of course, with every technological advancement comes a new set of risks, and RFID technology is no exception. The most widely publicised being the fact that RFID chips are susceptible to hacking, resulting in identity theft and/or credit card fraud. Hackers can use their own scanners - easily purchased online - out in public, to steal information straight from your pocket without you even realising it. Worse still, they only need to be a few feet away to do it, which is not difficult in a crowded mall.

The last thing you want to worry about when you’re out shopping or enjoying a nice dinner with friends is hackers trying to steal your credit card details. That’s why we have developed our new Bifold 6 Card and 8 Card Trophy RFID wallets, crafted from the same high-quality Saffiano leather as the wallets in our original Trophy collection  and available in a very stylish blue colour.

'The Roderer range of luxury leather goods are designed with the needs of the frequent traveller and business person in mind. The RFID-blocking wallets are designed to meet a much-felt need to safeguard vital personal information, especially in today's high-tech world where the hacking of personal data is increasingly common,' said Olivier Birault, CEO of Roderer.

At first glance these wallets look and feel exactly like the original models but there is one slight – but significant – difference. These Roderer RFID wallets have been specially designed to prevent identity theft. Within its layer lies a multi-metalized liner that blocks RFID signals up to 3000MHz. This tightly weaved nickel and copper liner offers total security against RFID scanners, even in close proximity, and utilises the same RFID blocking security implemented by the Military.

Best of all the Trophy RFID wallets look and feel great. Made by hand, the beautiful texture of the Saffiano leather is uninterrupted by external stitching, giving the wallet a streamlined, sophisticated look. The interior is fully lined with a subtle “Roderer” logo embossed on the lower left-hand side, while our distinctively understated Roderer metal crown in polished silver finish takes pride of place on the front - a mark of both style and refinement.

The Roderer Bi-Fold Trophy RFID wallet is available for purchase now in your choice of either6-card or 8-card holder, both with a 2 year warranty.

Roderer's range of bespoke products include a spectrum of wallets, business bags, key holders and business card holders in a variety of textures, styles, colours and finishes to match the individuality and style of the patrons. Currently the brand offers their leather goods in five different leathers: Milano, Roma, Saffiano, Torino & Venezia. Roderer leather goods are also available for purchase online.
