Joyalukkas Foundation celebrates 10th anniversary.

Thousands of needy get the ‘Touch of Joy’ during the decade of service to humanity by the Joyalukkas Foundation. Over 1000 employees volunteer for blood donation.

Kochi, July, 2014: Joyalukkas Foundation the CSR division of Joyalukkas Group has completed a decade of serving humanity. The past ten years for the foundation has been a hugely rewarding experience as it has managed to come to the aid of the needy people across India. The Joyalukkas Foundation’s objective is to serve and do whatever it can to better the condition of needy people irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

The 10th anniversary celebration of the foundation was inaugurated by Superstar Shri. Suresh Gopi at Taj Gateway on 25th July, 2014. Shri. Tony Chammany, Mayor of Cochin Corporation inaugurated the Blood Donation Campaign and Shri.Hibi Eden, MLA unveiled the Joyalukkas Foundation Souvenir. Joyalukkas Group also took this opportunity to honor few individuals for their contributions to the society. The awards were handed over by Superstar Shri. Suresh Gopi (Actor) to Shri. K.A. Noorudheen (Founder, Chairman – Alpha Palliative Care), Rev.Fr.Shaji Vettikattil (Director of Heart Insititute at Pushpagiri Medical College) for organizing free medical camps across Pathanamthitta, Shri. Shaju.M.P for aiding to the needs of the differently-abled and Rev.Sr.Terly for educating and rehabilitating the less privileged population in Cochin. A talk on Hemodialysis was given by Dr. V.Narayanan Unni (MD, DM-Nephrology, Aster Medicity). 

“I believe in ‘sharing a touch of joy’ whenever the situation demands it or when we come across a cause that we feel can be bettered in any way possible. I launched our CSR activity the same year I started Joyalukkas Jewellery in India because I felt helping the environment or society we are doing business in, should be an integral part of any corporate”, said Mr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman & MD, Joyalukkas Group.

Joyalukkas Foundations operation is managed by its own team of employees who have volunteered their services for serving humanity. They constantly monitor events and happenings across India and identify causes the Foundation can come to the assistance of. Be it calamities, epidemics or medical causes, the committed team of volunteers understand the need and deploy monetary or any other assistance required accordingly. 

“Our philosophy of ‘Share a touch of joy’ is what guides me and my team to constantly strive to bring a smile to some needy person or help a worthy cause,” said Jolly Joy Alukkas, Director, Joyalukkas Group who spearheads the Joyalukkas Foundation activities.

The Joyalukkas foundation has set clear goals on the CSR front to ensure enough is done for the people and the community within which it operates. Some of the activities that Foundation has undertaken includes Mangalaya Mela, Thrissur Thekinkadu Clearing (Clean City Project), Frequent Blood Donation camps, Airfare for Amnesty Seekers, Educational support, Building homes for the poor, Medical assistance, Sponsoring sportsmen, Financial assistance for marriages, Donation of Dialysis machine and air-condition to Burns Ward at Jubliee Mission College Hospital, Ambulance to Shanthi Medical Information Center, clothes to Attapadi Tribal every quarter, Funding for Tsunami relief, Help patients undergoing Dialysis on a monthly basis, Building rooms at Kripatheeram and Snehatheeram, Construction of a part of Snehalayam Old Age Home, Contribution towards ‘CRY OF THE POOR’ project in Africa, Special software donation to Adarsh Charitable Trust to assist autistic children, Financial assistance to poor cardiac patients at Jubliee Hridhayalaya, Free medical camps on a monthly basis in association with Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital where selected patients will be given financial support for surgery. 

“The reason we are celebrating the Joyalukkas Foundation’s 10th Anniversary is so that we make people aware of our various CSR activities which hopefully attract like minded people to join us in this noble cause or this awareness will help us reach out to more people who are in dire need of some form of assistance. We are eager to ‘Share the touch of Joy’ to as many needy and noble causes as possible,” said P.P. Jose, Executive Director, Joyalukkas Group.

The Joyalukkas Foundation is associated with various NGO’s which are provided with monthly donations from the foundation to assist them in their respective drives. These include India Vision Foundation spearheaded by Dr.Kiran Bedi, Kanivu Charitable Society, Mithram a special school for differently abled children, Shanthi Niketan Welfare Society in Delhi, Building Blocks in Bengaluru and Sneha Trust. Other than this the foundation has made donations to Alfa Palliative Care Clinic.
