Reebok to support cancer detection campaign

UAE: Wednesday 23rd January 2013: Global fitness brand Reebok has confirmed that it will once again be supporting the honourable fund raising efforts of the Pink Caravan Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 2013 by supplying the riders with apparel and accessories throughout their 323km, 10-day journey on horseback across the seven emirates.

Over 500 Reebok fitness items will be gifted by the international brand to the 200 riders and volunteers taking part in the annual fundraiser which is now in its third consecutive year.

Held under the patronage of Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Pink Caravan is part of the Friends of Cancer Patients national cancer campaign and aims to raise awareness of breast cancer to men and women with the purpose of encouraging the early detection of the disease by providing the latest state-of-the-art screening technology.

'Reebok is partnering with the Pink Caravan to help raise awareness on how important it is for people to take the right preventative measures towards their health. Regular medical screenings and daily exercise are simple to do, yet many people are still not taking advantage of the huge health benefits participating in both can bring.' commented Mark Greiner, GM Reebok.

This year the target for the Pink Caravan ride is to complete 5,000 quality screens across the UAE, adding to the current total of 16,776 men and women in the past two years.

The Pink Caravan campaign will begin riding in Sharjah on Saturday, 2nd February at 11.00 a.m.
