Product of The Year Gulf 2013 kick-off:  the first GCC-wide Product Innovation award as voted by thousands of consumers

The “Voted Product of the Year” label, renowned worldwide, across 36 countries, has finally been launched in the GCC to help local shoppers find the most innovative new products on-shelf.


Following a successful UAE 2012 edition that saw 16 winners claim the title of “Product Of The Year UAE”  based on the opinions and votes of 800 households in the UAE, and due to popular demand from regional clients, this prestigious international label is now available on a GCC-wide basis, taking into account the votes of a large and representative sample of consumers in all 6 GCC countries.
Product of the Year is an independent and prestigious award that recognizes excellence in quality and innovation in the consumer goods sector and is the only one of its kind that is voted 100% by consumers themselves.


In the framework of the ongoing preparations for the Gulf edition of the Product of the Year, the 2013 Gulf edition's Jury Day took place on Wednesday, October 10th , 2012  at the Arjaan Rotana hotel, Dubai Media City. The Jury included members of the Dubai Chamber, Federation of GCC Chambers,  Saudi Media Association,  Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting, French Business Council, International Business Women's Group, American University of Sharjah, and Institute of Management Technology.
On Jury Day, samples of all participating products , along with their respective description, were displayed for Jury Members to touch, taste, smell and study closely. Each Jury member filled out a multiple choice questionnaire to help us identify the competitors that best fit the Product of the Year international requirements. They evaluated all the products entries and scored them to make sure only the innovative products go on to the consumer research phase. “Product of the Year's survey is the GCC people's voice and we are delighted to be able to bring Gulf consumers' votes to the manufacturers and importers ” stated Mr. Dory Kfoury, CEO of Product of the year for the Middle East and North Africa.


Our local market research partner TNS will now launch a GCC-wide consumer survey based on 3400 face to face interviews, and the winners of each category will be announced during a gala dinner on February 27th, 2013.
