Graduation of 73 officers in 3 specialized courses at the Police College

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, June 28th 2013 [ME NewsWire]: Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Sharifi, Director General of Protective Security at the Ministry of Interior attended the graduation of 73 police officers from the different sectors of the Ministry of Interior. The graduates completed four courses, namely; the “Preliminary” and “Intermediate” Leadership courses; and the 3rd Basic “Criminal Investigation” course. The courses were organized by the Officers Training Institute, at Al Ettihad Hall at the Police College.
The ceremony was attended by Colonel Saif Ali Al Kutobi ( Al Kutbi to be used instead , this is the right spelling ), Police College Director; Colonel Saif Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of the Officers Training Institute, along with department directors, heads of sections and officers from the Police College and the Training Institute.
In his address on the occasion, Colonel Al Kutbi emphasized the attention and keenness of the ministry to develop its human cadres' competencies in the various areas of police work. This comes in line with the Police Leadership directives to constantly raise the level of performance of its staff in all police bodies, through various training courses. It also is in keeping with the Ministry of Interior's strategy that embodies the Government's vision to achieve a safer society.
He said that the Officers Training Institute at the Police College has dedicated a great deal of attention, time and effort to ensure the quality and excellence of training. This is achieved by recruiting prominent experts, lecturers, and administrators, and by resorting to a variety of local and foreign expertise to implement the training program. This has reflected positively on performance levels and knowledge, as well as on the acquired competencies of participants in such courses.
Colonel Saif Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of the Officers Training Institute gave an address at the beginning of the graduation ceremony and said: “The Police College is taking confident steps into the future through its development plan, in order to achieve a prominent position as one of the best police training colleges in the world; thanks to the support and wise guidance of the police leadership”.
He added that the graduation of this qualified group of officers represents an important addition to the Ministry of Interior's roster of achievements. Moreover, he noted that the graduates were trained as per the latest police and security systems and concepts, to develop officers' skills and competencies, and provide them with modern and advanced knowledge. This also aims to hone officers' administrative and behavioral skills, in order to effectively lead their subordinates and enable them to keep pace with the various changes and developments in the security field.
At the end of the graduation ceremony, Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Sharifi, assisted by Colonel Saif Ali Al Kutbi and Colonel Saif Mohammed Al Nuaimi handed over certificates to officers who participated in the courses.
