Hair care is expected to be among the strong growth segments in the flourishing regional beauty industry, according to organiser of Beautyworld Middle East 2013, Epoc Messe Frankfurt.
Research by leading analysts and Beautyworld Middle East Knowledge Partner, Euromonitor International, estimates that the hair care market in Saudi Arabia was worth approximately SAR 1.8 billion in 2012 and this is expected to increase by 44% to SAR 2.6 billion by 2017.
Beautyworld Middle East, the leading international trade fair for beauty products, hair, fragrance and wellbeing in the region, which takes place next week from Tuesday 28th May to Thursday 30th May in Dubai, will reflect this growth with a large number of international hair care brands showcasing their latest product lines aimed at the region.
Men are at the forefront of driving much of this growth with hair loss treatments having been the fastest growing sector at 11% in 2011.
Euromonitor International estimates that the hair care market in the two leading markets in the GCC - KSA and UAE - is expected to reach SAR 3.3 billion by 2017, keeping the GCC high on the priority lists of international hair care majors.
“Hair care and cosmetics have always been high on the regional priority list. The region's extreme climatic conditions is tough on hair and skin and the market is always highly responsive to the latest developments in hair care, colour, treatment and rejuvenation products,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt.
The 2013 edition of the Epoc Messe Frankfurt-organised trade and networking mega event is set to post strong growth across a wide range of sectors including hair care. The show which will be 27% larger than the previous edition will also feature a host of new additions. This includes the Beautyworld Middle East Boutique – an area on the show floor dedicated to exclusive, high end products.
Bringing a range of hair care products to the Beautyworld Middle East Boutique is first time exhibitor Beauty Solutions Trading. Ms. Anna Gedman, said: “We began operations in 2009 with the aim of sourcing unique brands from around the world and bringing them to the Middle East. We hope to be recognised as the region's leading beauty experts. Through Beautyworld Middle East we hope to achieve this which gets us one step closer to our goals.”
