41 French companies at the 2013 edition in Doha
PROJECT QATAR is celebrating its tenth edition! This major construction, materials and environmental technology exhibition will open next 6 May at Doha and should ensure a repeat of last year's success. In 2012, the event hosted 2,083 exhibitors, from 48 countries and received over 45,000 professionals, which represents a 19% increase in numbers. The French pavilion set up by UBIFRANCE, The French Agency for International Business Development - will certainly not miss this anniversary. It will receive over 41 companies at its second attendance.
France's building sector is a powerful driver for its economy. Three companies are listed amongst the 5 European sector leaders. Large international groups and small companies that develop leading edge technologies will be getting together and completing each other. Innovation is the rule, often boosted by increasingly stringent standards. The new thermal regulation, which is effective in France since 2012 for all new constructions, accelerated the country's ecological transformation and the arrival on the market of extremely efficient technologies, so to meet the requirements which are amongst the most demanding in the world.
This context explains the strong appeal on behalf of French companies for the Middle East, where there is high demand for environmental technologies. In more general ways, the whirlwind of new projects in Qatar, and in particular the 110 billion USD scheduled for the World Football Cup in 2022, are strong incentives for companies who have already received references in the sphere of influence of these major scale events.
The delegation will involve 30 new participants, evidence enough that this market generates great interest. All the sectors and sub-sectors will be exhibited: from architecture to door hinges, including, construction material, safety equipment, scaffolding, air handling equipment and building lock systems, to name a few.
Three companies will take part in the ENERGY QATAR 2013 trade fair, including Electricité de France. The international electrical engineering, power generation and distribution exhibition, is organised as an aside event of PROJECT QATAR, as part of an overall offer, the strong points being innovation, quality and design.
The regions of Alsace, Centre and Franche Comté will round off the French involvement in the event. France will be represented in halls 1 and 3 of the Doha Exhibition Centre from 6 to 9 May.
