Energy University Marks 105 Percent Increase in Registrations in 2012
Dubai-UAE: 01 April, 2013 – Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, announced the rolling out of the Energy University Hero competition across the GCC in January, 2013. The initiative seeks to award exemplary participants in the virtual program on a quarterly basis, beginning March 2013.
Since its regional inception in 2011, Schneider Electric's Energy University has witnessed unparalleled growth with registrations across the Gulf increasing by 105 per cent with 2,057 new users. The educational platform Energy University offers more than 300 online courses in energy efficiency and data center management focusing on infrastructure, industry, buildings, residential, as well as data centers and networks. Recognizing the need for catering to a largely Arabic speaking population, Schneider Electric also offers the courses in Arabic, apart from 11 other international languages including English.
Schneider Electric named Dinesh Kumar Khetani, Associate Manager - Maintenance, Tiffany Foods Limited, the first Energy University Hero. Khetani successfully completed 36 courses over a span of three months and cleared the professional energy manager (PEM) examination on 9 January 2013 with an overall score of 83 percent to claim the prestigious title.

Designed around self-paced learning, Schneider Electric's Energy University courses are free and last not more than an hour per course, allowing users to take the courses anytime and anywhere.
