Over 25,000 parents across the region engage with the campaign and make wishes for their children.
Dubai 30 Dec 2012: A one year old boy's bedroom filled with toys, an extravagant birthday celebration at Fun City, the delivery of a PlayStation Portable to the hospital bed of a five year old boy; Bebelac Junior has revealed that over 25,000 parents from across the region have been inspired to take part in its debut ‘Two Hearts One Wish' campaign to make children's wishes come true.
‘Two Hearts, One Wish' was launched in September by growing up milk brand, Bebelac Junior, to fulfill the wishes of the region's children. Results from the first few months prove the campaign succeeded in touching the hearts of parents from all corners of the region, with 65 different nationalities in more than seven countries joining in the campaign. In addition, a touching surprise was that around 40 per cent of the heartfelt and often funny wishes came from fathers posting wishes for their sons and daughters.
A wide range of wild and wonderful wishes were submitted by parents for their children, from the simplest wishes to the more extravagant ones - the top 5 most common category of wishes, in no particular order, were:
1. Education (to enroll in a good school or to receive financial aid for education)
2. Learning a new skill (Swimming, Dance, Music, Football, Tennis)
3. Trips of a lifetime (Disneyland USA, Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Hong Kong, Wonderland etc)
4. Gadgets (iPads, laptops, mobile phones)
5. Room Makeovers (For boys: Spiderman, Ben10, blue & green theme, For girls: Barbie, Dora The Explorer, Hello Kitty, pink theme)
Speaking about the campaign, Abeer Esawi Bebecare representative and specialised registered nurse certified in UNICEF Breastfeeding Management commented “When we first launched the campaign, we wanted to fulfill the wishes and ultimately spread some happiness amongst the region's children. This is our first campaign of this type in the region and we never dreamed we would get such a huge response, assisted by the huge amount of fans who visited and interacted on our Bebecare Facebook page.”
She continued “I am delighted we were able to make so many children's wishes come true. In fact, we are now considering turning ‘Two Hearts, One Wish' into an annual event to make even more wishes and dreams come true for children across the region.”
Last month, Clemson Paulo, a two year old Philipino boy who lives in Dubai saw his wish granted by Bebelac Junior as one of three October winners. His mother wished for him to celebrate his third birthday at the children's entertainment centre, Fun City, a place he loves very much. Five year old Nisar Qudsia from Pakistan, who also lives in Dubai joined Clemson in becoming an October winner when he was granted a PSP (PlayStation Portable) to cheer him up after breaking a bone in his arm which prevented him from going to school for one month.
