Team Shift Triumphs Again With Victory in Free Fire Arab League Season 2 Tournament

Dubai, 29 September 2020:  SHIFT, whose team members hail from Algeria, celebrated another tournament victory by reigning supreme in the second season of Free Fire Arab League that attracted more than 4 million viewers.

The team consisting of Guemmaz Aymen (Shadio), Younes Louail (Kortez), Aissa Kheirredine (Wanis) and Bencheikh Nasrellah (DVL), put their skills to the test and overcame stern competition from the best sides across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to emerge champions in the event. As well as lifting the title, SHIFT also grabbed a major portion of the grand prize pool of USD $25,000.

The Free Fire Arab League is the second official Garena tournament that SHIFT has won since coming together as a team having won the first Free Fire Arab Clash War tournament recently.

SHIFT’s triumph brings the second season of Free Fire Arab League event to an end following three months of entertaining clashes by the region’s top 24 teams.

Team Black Flag, whose team members are from Syria claimed the runners-up position while INS Team with members hailing from Morocco and Algeria finished third in the event.

Over Fear (Tunisia), Black Ghost (Tunisia), MAFIA FF (Tunisia), #BegForMercy (Morocco), VIS A VIS (Morocco), Alkeed (Jordan), Dictators (Tunisia/ Morocco), X4 (Syria) and Star Wars (Morocco) were the other teams who played their way into qualifying for the grand finals.

Fans across the region were also able to follow the action live with the Final Stages, Semi-Finals and the Grand Final broadcasted on Garena’s official YouTube channel.

The tournament received over 4 million views with the grand finale alone garnering half a million views.
SHIFT’s team leader Shadio, said: “We are absolutely delighted to become champions of the Free Fire Arab League. Although we were confident in our abilities, we still put in a lot of hours practising to ensure we were at the top of our game and it’s great that this has finally paid off. This will give us a lot of confidence going forward and we are determined to continue this good form.”

He added: “Throughout the entire tournament, you could see there were a wide range of talented players which made it a tough competition. This is a big advantage because as a team we relish the opportunity of playing against strong players as it will help with everyone’s development.”
The Free Fire Arab League is part of Garena’s commitment to promote the eSports sector in the region and provide regular opportunities for gamers to compete against each other at the highest level.
