Empower successfully renewed ISO27001:2013 certificate

Dubai, UAE, 7th July 2019: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, achieved the highest internationally recognised safety standard in the protection of customer information since 2014. Safety and information security have become the foundation of successful and safe business services due to scientific progress and high reliance on technology, which are now a key component of business activities within many organisations.

Empower successfully completed the Information Security Management System Surveillance audit (ISO27001:2013), covering the highest international standards for information security for the next 3 years.

ISO27001:2013 certification is the international standard that specifies how to develop a properly managed information security management system that allows for the safe and secure preservation of financial and confidential data and reduces the possibility of unauthorized access to it.

The certificate was granted to Empower by the British Standards Institution (BSI), after successfully bypassing its business processes in accordance with the highest standards of ISO27001:2013. Empower underwent an audit which confirmed that the approved policies and procedures conform to international standards and specifications.

“We are happy to renew the ISO27001:2013 certification, which is a great success for Empower. It is a testimony of our continuous development of security systems, and confirms our commitment to adopting the highest international standards in protecting customer and all stakeholder data,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.

“The renewal of the ISO certification is a confirmation of the company's continued development and evidence of the strong performance indicators we use to protect information and data by applying the best practices in business management,” added Bin Shafar.

“Empower is committed to Dubai Government’s Information Security Regulation-Version 2, which demonstrates Empower’s commitment to achieve Dubai Government’s goal to protect information of its stakeholders” noted Bin Shafar.

Empower provides district cooling services to more than 1,090 buildings, catering to more than 100,000 customers. The company operates more than 1.43 Million Refrigeration Tons (RT), providing environmentally friendly district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Bluewaters, Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, International Media Production Zone and others.
