Swiss Watch Manufacturer Zenith becomes the strategic partner of the Dubai International Art Symposium

The esteemed event is held to honor the contribution of art and creativity towards humanitarian causes

Based on the theme, 'Spirit of Art: Man's Heartbeats,' the first session of the Dubai Art Symposium was declared open by the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre, organizing committee of the event. The event is held in a bid to support students and children with special needs and also backs the Emirates' tender to host the “Expo 2020.” Illustrious Swiss watch manufacturer Zenith became the strategic partner for this great event, which drew together 26 artists from 18 Arab and foreign countries, keen to spread the message of art and creativity in the region.

In addition to the presence of the world's greatest artists under one roof, the opening event also witnessed the attendance of other notable names such as His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, the Managing Director of Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center, Mrs. Mariam Othman, Director General of the Centre, and Mr. George Bechara, Regional Brand Director of Zenith. Speaking at the event, Mr. Bechara said, 'Zenith is proud to sponsor international events and forums of such caliber on Arab land, especially one that promotes art and creativity from different cultures in Arab society and serves noble and compassionate causes.'

Zenith also organized a ceremony at the Bamboo Lagoon restaurant in the JW Marriott paying a special tribute to the renowned artists who partook in the Symposium. In his speech addressed to the guests, Mr. Bechara said: “The globally recognized uniqueness and excellent quality of manufacturing and design of Zenith watches did not come out of a vacuum, but rather from its reliance on a group of highly-qualified and experienced watchmakers, who are keen to achieve refined aesthetics just as artists are. Thus, art plays an essential role and constitutes an integral part of the working culture at the Zenith Manufacture.” He further added, “We appreciate and support all aspects of art and believe that it plays a significant part in enriching and broadening the minds and horizons of people. This is why we have partnered with the Dubai International Art symposium to help further this talent.”

The Dubai International Art Symposium is an initiative taken by the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center that emphasizes the significance of the contribution of institutions and companies towards social awareness and simultaneously promotes art and aesthetics. A perfect initiative for Zenith to partner with, the symposium also paid a great tribute to internationally renowned Spanish artist Salvador Dali. The colors of the motto were inspired by the shades of the UAE flag and have been created from a shape in Arabic that suggests the word “Dubai.” Additionally, the letters D and S, referring to Dubai and Symposium respectively, have been artistically included in the motto.
