A Pink City worn on the wristFrom its very beginning, the House of Boucheron has taken inspiration from the East for its creations. India, in particular - a far away land, synonymous of star-studded dreams and precious lucky charms – and specifically Jaïpur have attracted jewellers the world over who come to admire the country's inspirational atmosphere. Among these jewellers was Louis Boucheron, son of founder Frédéric Boucheron, who fell endlessly in love with Rajasthan as soon as he saw the region on his first trip there in 1909. The maharajahs opened the doors of their palaces to him, unveiling the secrets of their jewellery and rare stones. These voyages led to a relationship of trust, spurring the Maharajah of Patiala to select Boucheron to produce innovative jewels, thus benefiting from the jeweller's unequalled amount of exceptional know-how. The Maharajah thus sent a collection of 1,432 emeralds and 7,571 diamonds to Place Vendôme in August 1928 so that the gems could be transformed into 149 pieces of jewellery reflecting rare beauty.

During their many years of collaboration, Louis archived dozens of sketches in his books; sketches which continue to inspire modern-day creations.
For example, there is the cabochon, a stone that is polished rather than faceted and is found on traditional Indian rings and bracelets. This highly unique shape has always been one of Boucheron's signature cuts, as it has been used in many gem creations.
Reflecting the spirit of its original character, this shape has also been used for the caps on Boucheron fragrance bottles ever since the creation of the eponym Boucheron, nicknamed the 'ring bottle'. It even features the sapphire blue colour of the original Jaïpur cabochon.

Inspired directly by its unique connections with India, Boucheron marks a new chapter for this latest iconic fragrance: a brand new juice within a reinvented jewel case/bottle.


An invitation to travel
At the end of the 19th Century, the Maharajah of Jaïpur was to receive the Prince of Wales, his opportunity to have the city painted entirely in pink, the traditional colour of welcome. Citadel of sensuality, Jaïpur was already the inspiration for a Boucheron fragrance in 1994.

A true tribute to the pink city of Rajasthan, Boucheron invites us to embark upon a new journey with a new breath of woody floral air christened the Jaïpur Bracelet.
It's a one-way ticket to intense, acknowledged femininity.


Talisman bottle
A lucky charm, the Jaïpur Bracelet bottle offers all the sensuality of its inspirational Rajasthan, with a shape that is essentially a refined version of the famous cabochon. This jewel case, made of pale pink-tinted glass, is a tribute to the Pink City's palaces, sculpted like a hanging bracelet. With its amethyst cabochon, the institutional colour of the House, the bottle, curved like a woman's form, celebrates the softness of nude skin. A precious object that immediately inspires the desire to pick it up and hold it within the palm of one's hand. 
The box, as textured as a fine fabric, matches the pink-hued cameo featured on the fragrance bottle.
The Eastern heritage is combined with a modern logo, delicately recapturing the lustre of an amethyst.


A woody floral fragrance, echoing desire
With the elegance that graces the values of House of Boucheron, Jaïpur Bracelet envelops skin in a veil of sensuality. Of bigarade, the fragrance has kept but the green of its essential oil. An effervescent sensation of citrus fruits is relayed by the freshness of violet leaves, basil and the lemon scent of verbena. Behind this apparent innocence lies an opulent heart of petals. Lace of lily of the valley. Delicate undertones of hyacinth. Silky sheen of marigold, the fruity flower known as the carnation of India.  As mysterious as the city which inspired it, the fragrance reveals yet another facet. Intensely sensual, the charnel notes of cashmeran combine with the woody aromatic notes of cypress and powdery finish of concrete Iris. A sensual wave rises, as a bracelet clasped around a wrist. This subtle melee is signed by Carlos Benaïm.
