BULOVA LAUNCHES IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Leading watch brand, synonymous with trusted craftsmanship, innovation and superior design, now available in the Middle East

Dubai, October 2012 – Bulova Corporation has announced a comprehensive distribution agreement with Ghadeer Trading, a division of Al Tayer Group, to cover the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The newest component in the diversified timekeeping company's current global expansion program, the partnership will actively promote Bulova products to consumers in the Middle East.

With a growing presence in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, Bulova, based in New York, with subsidiaries in Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Japan and China, has long viewed the Middle East as an important and essential part of its commitment to continued growth as a global company.

“Our global strategy has always included the Middle East, with its sophisticated consumers and vibrant retail environment, but we wanted to have the best possible partner and we were willing to wait for the right one,” said Bulova Corporation President, Dennis W. Perry. “In Ghadeer Trading we have found a distributor with extensive expertise in the luxury goods market and an understanding of the needs of a multi-brand company, as well as the operational capability to launch Bulova in three key markets, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, simultaneously.”

Bulova will be the primary watch company handled by Ghadeer, an established distributor of fine perfumes and cosmetics with distribution in the region's top outlets for luxury products. “As a special category within Ghadeer's portfolio, we know that its able and knowledgeable staff will treat us with the utmost care and attention,” observed Bulova's Perry. “We know that Middle East consumers appreciate superior design, exceptional craftsmanship and the most advanced technology. With Ghadeer, we are confident that Bulova watches will be ideally positioned to take advantage of the opportunities in all three markets.”

Founded in New York City in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, a dedicated innovator and a pioneering force in the watch industry, Bulova is committed to excellence in design, style and technology. The diversified timekeeping company will be offering three of its brands in the Middle East, all including  watches for dress, sport and casual use, Bulova Accutron, Swiss-made with meticulous craftsmanship and the finest mechanical and quartz technology, the signature Bulova brand, the only brand to offer three distinct timekeeping technologies – quartz, mechanical and Precisionist – and the industry leader in diamond watch styling, and Harley-Davidson® Timepieces by Bulova, officially licensed by the world-renowned motorcycle company. The Swiss luxury Bulova Accutron brand will initially be available exclusively at Hour Choice stores in the UAE. 

Within the Bulova brand, Bulova Precisionist has revolutionized the timekeeping industry as the world's most accurate watch with a continuously sweeping second hand. While most quartz watches are accurate to 15 seconds a month, Precisionist is accurate to 10 seconds a year. This year, the company will be expanding the line with the world's most advanced chronograph, the 1,000-second Precisionist Chronograph, as well as the new Lady Precisionist group. Bulova is also the industry leader in diamond watches, with each diamond individually hand-set for maximum brilliance. A renowned name in the sport area, the Marine Star Collection presents high-performance sport timepieces combining meticulous design with water resistance up to 200 meters. In addition, an extensive collection of Self-Winding Mechanical watches, with each including an open aperture dial and exhibition caseback, combines classic technology with exceptional design. 

Bulova Accutron, the company's Swiss-made luxury brand, offers European styling and craftsmanship to a sophisticated consumer base. Offering an exceptional combination of design and the finest technology, with superbly integrated automatic and quartz collections, Bulova Accutron plans to release an important new advance this fall, the Calibrator. Featuring Bulova's proprietary External Fine Adjustment System (EFAS), the Calibrator is the first automatic timepiece that gives consumers the power to fine-tune its accuracy without need for a technician. The result is the finest Swiss craftsmanship, personalized to deliver 99.99% accuracy. 

Retail price points for BULOVA watches range from 630 AED to 4,150 AED. The watches will be available across 50 stores in the UAE by the end of December.
