TRESemme Hair Academy Launches in Arabia with Georges Mendelek and Alanoud Badr

Dubai, UAE, April 19, 2017 - The first ever TRESemmé Hair Academy was launched on April 18th in Warehouse Four, Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE. Exclusive invites were sent to senior hairstylists from elite salons all across Dubai to attend a full day workshop conducted by TRESemmé experts/ambassadors - Georges El Mendelek - one of the most sought-after celebrity hairstylists from Lebanon and Alanoud Badr (Fozaza) - a hugely popular fashion designer and fashion influencer.

The TRESemme Hair Academy aims to bring all those hairstyles we see at NYFW, and the likes, which seem so hard to achieve, easily accessible in 7 minutes through this initiative. 

The workshop consisted of masterclasses held by both Georges and Alanoud. Georges' masterclass was all about hairstyling techniques with a special focus on braids whereas Alanoud's masterclass gave the attendees an insight into how hair and fashion come together to create a look that's truly iconic. The masterclasses were given to top salon stylists as this is TRESemmé’s way to reach to its customers. The customers of the brand go to these stylists to do their hair and if their stylist create the perfect look with TRESemmé, so can they!

After both the masterclasses, various elimination tasks were held and the group of attending stylists was boiled down to only six finalists. These finalists had to then create a day look and a night look based on everything they had learned from the experts. Clothes were provided by Desigual - a Spanish clothing brand known for its patchwork designs, intense prints, innovative graffiti art and asymmetrical designs. The brand is available in stores all across Dubai, including Dubai Mall and Mirdiff City Centre. Makeup was provided by Misslyn Arabia (available in Paris Gallery and online via their Instagram page).

The final twelve looks were then showcased in a fashion show and the winner Sugandh Dariya was selected by Georges and Alanoud. The whole event was live streamed on Facebook and Twitter reaching audiences in the UAE, Kuwait , Oman and Bahrain. 

The chosen winner gets to be a part of the TRESemmé hairstyling TRES squad at the New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017 working with some of the biggest names in the world of fashion.
