Khalid Al Halyan, Chairman of Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs  introduced the guests to Al Noor’s recently launched Smiles n’ Stuff website.  Smiles n’ Stuff sells products that children between the ages of 14 and 18 who have cognitive disabilities learn to make by hand at its four vocational training classes. The disciplines include Wood Design Technology, Fashion Technology , Printing Technology and a Bakery Unit.

Khalid Al Halyan, Chairman of Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs  said, “It was very heartening to see the members of the public coming forward to support such a noble cause at the gala dinner. It was my pleasure to launch the new Smiles n’ Stuff website, making it even more convenient for people to come forward and help children with special needs.”

The new online store will give shoppers the convenience of choosing from a wide range of desktop accessories, home improvement items, fashion items and assorted cookies from the comfort of their homes. The online store will not only sell these unique gift ideas but also capture behind the scene activities and give a glimpse into how the students transform their special needs to productive skills.

“The dinner was an astounding success and we were delighted to have the numerous people who stepped up to support the cause of Al Noor, by attending and participating in the auctions and raffle.” said Isphana Al Khatib, Director of Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs.

“The entire sales proceeds from the website will be utilised to contribute to the welfare of Al Noor students. This will enable us to enhance our ‘reach’ in terms of awareness as well as sales”, she added.

Al Noor raised approximately AED 500,000 from the gala dinner to support the needs of 300 children and young people from different nationalities who have various physical and cognitive challenges attending the Centre where they are given thorough professional training and care to reach their highest potential. Approximately 600 people attended the dinner.

The Al Noor center is our first involvement in terms of CSR and we hope to help many more in the times to come”.
